Fly the US Flag at Half Staff on Friday, December 7, 2012

Raleigh, NC – All US and North Carolina flags at state facilities will be flown at half staff on Friday.

According to the North Carolina Department of Administration, Governor Bev Perdue has signed an order in observance of National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day on December 7th.

The date marks when the U.S. entered into World War II in 1941 after an attack on Pearl Harbor.

“All employees of the Department of Administration join Governor Perdue and me in honoring the memory of those who served their country in valor that day, and give thanks to all members of the armed services who dedicate their lives to protect our freedoms,” an emailed news release from the DOA explained.
