Honoring 9/11

Today, as we remember the tragedy of 9/11, it is sobering to see the amount of honor that we still pay to the victims the events, some eleven years removed. In traveling the streets of Charlotte, we witnessed a wide array of businesses that lowered their flags to half-staff in honor of those who gave their lives. After all of the rhetoric of the two political conventions has passed, we applaud those businesses that chose to fly their flags in tribute of this date.

Since that tragic date in 2001 when flags were flying off of the shelves here at Conder Flag, we have seen a considerable drop in those homes and businesses that fly a flag at all. Maybe it’s the economy, maybe it’s an apathetic society… but for whatever the reason, we just have not seen flags being displayed as they were since 9/11. As for today, the eleventh anniversary of that horrible day in America, we salute ALL that choose to remember and honor our fellow citizens.
